Oh, Juliet, how lovely art thou...

This is the one I was working on last night. I felt like it was the longest day at work... ever! Don't know why, I just really hurt. It took a while to get going, but I really love this one. It's a shower cake for a baby Juliet, the baby and granddaughter of some folks that I think are an amazing set of people. The couple helps me with homeschooling, so I have a lot of interaction with them! They had six kids, and three of the girls are now having kids. Their twin boys graduate this spring, so I'm also looking forward to those cakes.

Anyway, this one is a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. It is only colored brown, it is NOT chocolate frosting! The accents are a dusty lime and rose that matched the invitations, and I can only hope, the rest of the party!!

Mallory also made truffles, so I should get some pictures of those, too!

Ambassador

Michael has had me make a cake for the residents nearly every month since he started working there. We both enjoy it so much. I say nearly because sometimes it's cupcakes instead, or he's done brownies or something else. Wednesday, he had meetings in Omaha when I received a call from Robyn to see if I was bringing in a cake for the party. Well, I hadn't put it on my calendar, so I hadn't even begun. The kids helped me and we made a whiz-bang job of it! This was also the first month I've had the names to put on the cake. I usually do a themed on that just says "Happy Birthday," but I told Michael I wanted to start putting their names on them. So anyway, this isn't my favorite one, but I was very glad to get it done for them.

Simple things

These are my most recent cakes, though rather simple ones. They are what the kids wanted! They were for our cousins, but then their party got delayed and they invited Mallory to share the day. Sure made things easy on me! Anyway, these are all I have on the new computer. I'll post more when I figure this thing out!!
